Weston History Bites: Oral History of Carolyn Scribner

Today we are sharing the oral history of longtime Weston resident, Carolyn Scribner. As part of the Weston Voices Oral History Project, Carolyn was interviewed Karin Giannitti & Arne de Keijzer in 2017. Photography by Julie O'Connor.

Carolyn Scribner was born and raised in Weston to an entrepreneurial family that literally helped build the town: her father, three houses, and her mother’s father campground called “Wessel’s Bungalows.” It was a time when Weston was truly rural and growing up meant swimming in ponds, picking wildflowers, and visiting area farms. What touched us the most after reading her oral history was Carolyn's close relationship with her mother.
