The Coley House was built in 1841 and was lived in by many members of the Coley family. It is now part of the Weston Historical Society. When this house was built 179 years ago, it did not have bathrooms inside. People would use an outhouse, which was an outdoor toilet housed in a small shed.
The Coley family didn't have an indoor bathroom until the 1920s, about 100 years ago. This coloring page shows the back of the Coley House. Do you notice the part of the house that is popping out the back? Those are the bathrooms that were added to the house in the 1920s.
