Weston History Bites: Flood of 55 in Weston

August 8, 2020

We hope this post finds everyone safe after the tropical storm back on August 4, 2020. I'm sure we can all agree that the storm added more chaos to an already abnormally chaotic 2020! However, this is not the first time that Mother Nature has wreaked havoc in our area and it certainly won't be the last.

This Chronicle Quarterly article was written back in 2011 at the end of a very terrible weather year for Weston as well as for most of New England. The article also hearkens back to the Blizzard of 1888, the terrible winter of 1949/1950, and the disastrous and deadly Flood of 1955. Click to text to read the article.

If only the author of this article knew that 2012 was not going to be a kind weather year either, what with Super Storm Sandy and all. Do you remember other historically significant storms? Share them with us.
