Weston Voices

First Selectman Series: Gayle Weinstein

Gayle Weinstein moved to Weston from New York City with her husband and twin boys in 1995. She soon became active in town affairs, learning that “if you speak up and can make a case for your argument, you can have a positive impact on the community.” She was elected to the Board of Selectman in 2007, and then served three terms as First Selectman from 2009-2015. She also attended the Women’s Campaign School at Yale. When asked what advice she might give women contemplating a run for office, she was succinct: “Go for it!” She is currently president of the Board of the Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education.
