Membership in the Weston Historical Society is open to individuals and families interested in helping discover and preserve the town's unique 300-year heritage.

Second Grade Tours & Education
Help develop interactive programs with the schools to increase student knowledge of Weston history.

Community Service
The Society is deeply involved in the Weston community. Its projects range from its various fairs (farmers' market, etc.) and events, such as the Senior Picnic and House Tour, to acting as a vehicle for various youth and community organizations, such as the Garden Club, to perform service related activities.
In addition the Society has a significant relationship with Kiwanis, who has provided both major financial and operational support for its various functions.

Docent Program
Serve as a guide and information source to Homestead visitors.

Archival Researcher
Help expand, organize, catalogue and preserve the Society's collections and data bases.

Event Volunteers
Help plan and staff the Society's annual picnic for Seniors. Halloween Fair, Easter Egg hunt and other community events.

Homestead Volunteers
Help repair and maintain the homestead buildings and grounds.

Membership and Publicity
Help build membership and increase the society's overall presence in town.

Finance
Help plan and implement programs to boost the Society's Endowment and Capital Improvement funds.
As an all-volunteer organization (there is no paid staff), the society's ability to fulfill its purpose depends wholly on a large, generous and active membership.Members, through their annual contributions, provide the bulk of the society's annual income.

 

Members also, through hands-on help, do most of the society's work, from genealogical research to weeding the Homestead gardens.Membership is on an annual basis, with each year beginning April 1. While minimum membership is $25, members are urged to contribute at higher levels to help support the Society's expanding restoration and preservation obligations. All contributions are fully tax deductible.

A subscription to The Chronicle, the Society's periodic publication

Free or reduced admission to concerts. lectures, tours and other events sponsored by the society

An invitation to Christmas at the Coley House, a festive reception that traditionally marks the beginning of the local holiday season.

Members also participate in the nomination and election of Society's trustees.
