Weston Historical Society

On Saturday, September 28, the 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, Company F will set up camp in Weston, CT. The encampment will showcase the daily lives of Civil War soldiers as well as the roles women and civilians played during the war.
The encampment will take place from 10 am through 3 pm on the grounds of the Weston Historical Society at 104 Weston Road, Weston, CT 06883. There will be five hours of activities, including military drills, weapons exhibitions and a demonstration of how soldier’s meals were prepared over an open fire. Children’s activitiess will include “volunteering” to march with wooden muskets. A complete schedule of events for the day can be found on the Weston Historical Society’s website.
